A estreia de Tite à frente da Seleção Brasileira não poderia ter sido melhor. Pegar o Equador no campo do adversário e ganhar por 3 x 0 superou todas as expectativas. Imediatamente, iniciou-se nas mídias sociais um debate: ele teria mostrado novas possibilidades para a seleção ou teria enfrentado um adversário fraco? Para mim, as duas alternativas estão corretas.
O Equador estava entre os líderes das Eliminatórias Sul-Americanas, invicto em Quito e, devido ao recente histórico da nossa seleção, era uma ameaça das mais concretas. Não por seu potencial, mas por causa de nossa falta de bom futebol, competitividade etc.
Pois não é que Tite mostrou um time com uma organização tática que há muito vinha dando saudades? O Equador apertou bastante no começo, deu um calor tremendo em Daniel Alves e Marcelo, e o pior não aconteceu graças às atuações firmes de Marquinhos e Miranda. Casemiro começou titubeante, mas foi se firmando durante o jogo. Paulinho e Renato Augusto também melhoraram com o decorrer da partida e passaram a ser chaves para o esquema do novo treinador.
Neymar, Gabriel Jesus e Felipe Coutinho (que substituiu o apagado Willian) ganharam confiança e transformaram a vida dos equatorianos em um inferno. O Brasil começou bem melhor o segundo tempo. O Equador sentiu. A vitória foi questão de tempo. A expulsão de Paredes não foi o fator de desequilíbrio. Ele apelou e foi expulso porque o jogo já estava desequilibrado em favor do Brasil.
Esse foi o primeiro mérito de Tite. O Brasil jogou como equipe organizada e surpreendeu o adversário. Os equatorianos se enervaram e a vitória foi natural. Essa já foi uma mudança importante. O óbvio foi restabelecido: com todo o respeito aos vizinhos de continente, quem tem que nos temer é o Equador, e não o inverso.
Os próximos passos são o de aperfeiçoar o time. Estamos em um ótimo caminho, mas ainda não dá para nos colocarmos novamente entre os melhores do planeta. Temos que ganhar consistência, quilometragem. A geração promete. Gabriel Jesus, Neymar, Marquinhos, Felipe Coutinho, com os veteranos Paulinho, Marcelo, Miranda, Renato Augusto, têm cara de Seleção Brasileira.
Mas se queremos voltar a dominar o planeta, precisamos primeiro mostrar que temos a capacidade de reinar em nosso continente. E isso começou a acontecer diante do Equador.
